Good Morning Chicago DSA,
It’s been quite the week for the DSA as an organization, especially on immigration. If you haven’t been keeping up, not only did Metro DC DSA protesters ruin Homeland Security Secretary Kristjen Nielsen’s dinner, but Portland DSA protesters actually shut down an ICE facility. If you’re wondering what Chicago DSA has been doing to help fight against the terrorist organization known as ICE, we’ve been talking with local immigration rights groups and this July 6, we’ll be supporting NWI Resistance and heading out to protest deportations at Gary Chicago International Airport. I don’t normally promo events this early but for this protest, if we get a good idea of how many people are heading out there, we can better coordinate transportation. So please RSVP on the facebook page!
Another very important event that we have this week is the 2018 Membership Convention! We’ll be voting on new bylaws as well as a electing a co-chair, secretary, and political education officer to the executive committee, but we need to make quorum for the votes to stick! There’s more information further down the page but go ahead and click here for all the information you need. We need you there, folks! So, please come!
That’s all I have for you this week. All of our events for the next 7 days are listed below. As always, I’ll see you out there, comrades 🙂
