Solidarity Economy Working Group Meeting

June 19 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Solidarity. Equity In All Dimensions. Participatory Democracy. Sustainability. Pluralism. These are the five principles used by the US Solidarity Economy Network to define the solidarity economy.

Solidarity is a cohesion developed in the course of common struggle. A solidarity economy is how we build a parallel economic infrastructure in the present which aligns with our vision of a more free, democratic, and humane society that serves people in ways extractive capitalism can not and will not.

At this month’s meeting, we will:

–recap recent developments in Chicago’s solidarity economy landscape
–discuss personal projects we are pursuing in furtherance of the solidarity economy
–brainstorm projects to grow the public understanding of a solidarity economy

We’re meeting at Harold Washington Library 6th Floor South. The library is ADA accessible however it does not have gender neutral bathrooms.
